OFFICIAL REPORTS
Supervisor Uhl
The Monroe County Medical Authority has suggested that all townships send representatives to their meetings. Dundee Township resident Samuel Freimark has volunteered to be the township representative however; board members are the representatives for other townships. Townships will be contacted for their input.
Trustee Larson
New flags have been delivered to the township and one has been placed at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Exeter Township was contacted for more information regarding the millings used on Rawsonville Road. Stockpiling millings for future projects can be cost effective to townships.
Trustee Lazette
Trustee Lazette and Eric Ferrall toured the test site in Adrian where the Polymar Modified Soil was applied one year ago. Heavy truck traffic occurs daily on this site and to date has held up very well. Mr. Ferrall is recommending test roads be determined and soil samples be retrieved for further study. Board members agreed upon Bunce Road from Day to Bigelow Roads, Irish Road from the railroad tracks to Meanwell Road and Dunbar Road beginning at Wells Road until the road ends. Once samples have been examined the road commission will be contacted for approval.
Trustee Juckette
A resident along Irish Road has concerns that the road has received chloride before it was scraped. The road commission will need to be notified. The road commission was notified on June 4, 2008 of a catch basin on Meanwell Road between Ida West and Irish Roads in need of repair. To date the repair has not been made. They will be contacted again.
Trustee Winkelman
The following is the fire report for the month of May:
Township Village
Fires 1 1
Rescues 7 34
Personal Inj. Acc. 2 1
Mutual Aid 1 0
Other calls 0 5
Total calls for the month of May were 52.
The siren repair will be complete within one to two weeks. The fire department will be purchasing six to seven new sets of turnout gear that were approved in their fiscal year budget.
Ms. Shalene Williams would like to donate a tree to be planted in memory of the late Trustee John Williams at the new fire hall when it is complete. Board members agreed that this would be a wonderful tribute to his memory.
Treasurer Sontag
Monroe Bank & Trust has been approached regarding the collection of taxes at their banking establishment. A larger sign will be placed by the mail slot in the door to the right of the front door notifying residents that tax bills may be placed there after office hours.
Clerk Lupu
Approximately 185 absentee applications have been mailed for the August primary election. The outside library stairwell was vandalized with graffiti last week along with areas of the village. A contractor was hired for clean up.
OLD BUSINESS
Building Inspector Bob Madaski will be meeting with representatives at the Curry pond site on Thursday. Bids have previously been received for clean up of the pond. A decision will need to be reached at the next meeting in order to keep the project on schedule.
