DUNDEE TOWNSHIP
REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 28, 2007
The regular meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday August 28, 2007 at the Dundee Township Hall. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Present were Supervisor Uhl, Clerk Lupu, and Trustees: Larson, Williams, Juckette and Lazette. Treasurer Goetz had an excused absence. There were six citizens in attendance.
Motion by Clerk Lupu and supported by Trustee Williams to approve the agenda with an addition to the accounts payable of $492.00 for an auto insurance invoice to add the new fire truck to the insurance policy bringing the total of the accounts payable to $107,241.97. Motion carried.
Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Trustee Juckette to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held August 14, 2007 and waive the reading of such. Motion carried.
Motion by Clerk Lupu and supported by Trustee Lazette to accept the treasurer's report for July 2007. Motion carried.

Motion by Trustee Larson and supported by Trustee Williams to accept the correspondence and place on file. Motion carried.
OFFICIAL REPORTS
Supervisor Uhl
A sample of a noise ordinance has been given to the Ordinance Officer for input and a sample of a burn ordinance has been given to the Fire Chief for his input also.
Treasurer Goetz has voiced concerns regarding the loose carpeting by the front door. Supervisor Uhl stated that she and Treasurer Goetz will check into costs involved in replacing a portion of the carpeting with tile.
Assessing Department
The four tax tribunal appeals that were filed with the state three have reached a consent judgment. One is still pending.
Building Department
Information was received from the township attorney regarding a request previously received from Mr. Jackson regarding the building of a pole barn. The attorney's recommendation was for denial based upon the zoning ordinance section 7.2.
Trustee Williams
Approval was granted at the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting previously held for a sign variance. The Planning Commission is in the process of drafting revisions of the ordinances and developing a bed and breakfast ordinance.
Trustee Larson
During the recent storms two limbs were blown down at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Rob Justice has been notified.
The DEQ called today regarding an illegal land fill being operated on Bunce and Bigelow Roads. The area in question is approximately a two by two square mile radius. The township attorney and ordinance officer have been contacted.
Trustee Lazette
The fire call minitor batteries are approximately three years old. The cost to purchase twelve new batteries is $1,176.00. Motion by Trustee Lazette and supported by Trustee Williams to approve the fire department purchase of twelve radio batteries at a cost of $98.00 per unit with a total cost of $1,176.00. Motion carried.

Trustee Juckette
Trustee Juckette has requested that the Health Department be notified regarding the landfill issue.
Clerk Lupu
The township insurance policies will be up for renewal in October. Representatives from other insurance companies have presented information. A presentation will be made to the board at the next meeting. A meeting was held with School Superintendent Ron Tarrant regarding elections. With the additional village and possible school elections combined onto the November 2008 ballot the area previously used for elections at the township will not be large enough. Negotiations with the school to use the middle school gym on Election Day have begun.
OLD BUSINESS
An agreement with Raisinville Township has been developed for the possible Nieman Road Water District joint project. A draft of the agreement was sent from the township attorney. Changes will need to be made on the parcel counts. Dundee Township has nine parcels and Raisinville Township has six. A termination date of April 12, 2010 will be added to coincide with the termination of the agreement between Raisinville Township and the City of Monroe. Motion by Trustee Juckette and supported by Trustee Lazette to approve the Raisinville Township and Dundee Township joint water district agreement with document termination language and exact parcel count language to be added. Roll call vote as follows: Trustee Larson yea, Trustee Williams yea, Trustee Lazette yea, Trustee Juckette yea, Clerk Lupu yea and Supervisor Uhl yea. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
The Monroe County ISD Early-On Reading Group has requested the use of the Library basement for all Wednesday's from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. starting the week of September 10th through December 17th. In 2008 they are requesting the use from January 7th through May 19th. This has been allowed for previous years with no charge to the ISD. Motion by Clerk Lupu and supported by Trustee Williams to approve the ISD Early-On Reading Group use of the library facility with any additional janitorial cost to be paid by the ISD program. Motion carried.
Motion by Clerk Lupu and supported by Trustee Williams to pay the bills in the amount of $107,241.97 and the manual journal entries in the amount of $169,811.03. Motion carried. Motion carried.
Motion by Clerk Lupu and supported by Trustee Lazette to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Time of adjournment was 8:17 p.m.
