OFFICIAL REPORTS

Supervisor Uhl

Zoning Planner Jeff Purdy from LSL Planning, Inc. was contacted regarding zoning language pertaining to motor cross tracks.  He will provide the township planning commission with a proposed language draft.

The road commission will be contacted regarding the final stump removal work that has not been completed on Alford Road and drainage problems on Petersburg Road north of M-50 by Kent Road.

Assessing Department

Board of Review will be held Tuesday July 22, 2008 beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Mineral Extraction Inspector

Frances Dean and Jay Ellis met today at the Meanwell Road pond for the initial inspection of the work performed to date.  Fuel tanks were originally placed too close to the lot line and have been adjusted.  Inspection of area drains shows no sediment drainage.  Signs will need to be placed every 200 feet identifying deep water.

Trustee Larson

Grating will occur on the Maple Grove Cemetery driveway.  The third application of penna seal will then be applied.

Trustee Larson was disappointed by the comments made by the village pertaining to the possibility of a village owned fire department.  She is hoping that these statements don't reflect the agenda of just one individual.

Trustee Lazette

A planning commission meeting will be held on Wednesday July 16, 2008 beginning with a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. and the regular meeting immediately following.  Samples from the test roads chosen to receive the P.M.S. compound will be taken tomorrow.

Copies of the Meanwell Road pond maps are available for board members.  Absentee ballots have been mailed.  Regarding the village decision to proceed with a village fire department, Clerk Lupu stated that when a township resident walks through the doors to the township building regardless of whether they also live within the village limits they are represented by this board and all fall under the jurisdiction of the fire department and have never been segregated in any way.

OLD BUSINESS

Area township governments were contacted on their procedures of representation to the Monroe County Medical Authority.  No other townships send an official representative.  A representative can go to any meeting and state the opinion of the township without an official title.  Board members stated that the decision of the other townships were satisfactory and will follow their protocol.

The potential fire department site appraisal will be complete for the next meeting.
