NOVEMBER 14, 2017
The Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the Dundee Township Hall. Trustee C.J. Horkey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll call of officials was taken: Supervisor Uhl-(excused). Treasurer Sontag, Clerk Salenbien and Trustees: C.J. Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Travis Horkey and Gary Lazette were present. Trustee Sontag moved to approve the agenda and Trustee Jaworski supported. Motion carried. Treasurer Sontag moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on October 24, 2017 and waive the reading of such. Trustee Lazette supported. Motion carried. Clerk Salenbien moved to waive the reading of the Correspondence and place on file. Treasurer Sontag supported. Motion carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None
Library Report: Due to the absence of the Librarian, Trustee CJ read a report Jennifer had provided with October statistics and upcoming events for November.

Building Department: None
Supervisor Uhl: Excused
Trustee C.J.: Trustee CJ reported there were 50 total calls for October, 2017.
Trustee Lazette: Trustee Lazette reported there will be a Planning Commission meeting November 15th. We are still awaiting another quote for the fence in front of the library. Trustee Lazette stated we need to coordinate a day and time to go to the firehall to assess mechanical room issues.

Treasurer Sontag: Treasurer Sontag reported she is finalizing details with assessing to prepare the tax bills. The new folding machine is here and was used to fold the flyer’s that will be included in the tax bills.
Clerk Salenbien: Clerk Salenbien reported on the November 7th 2017 Special Election. A total of 1175 total votes were cast (24.39% of registered voters voted). Clerk Salenbien reported Dundee Township was one of the townships selected (randomly) by the state for a “post-election audit”. The audit will be done by the County Clerk. Clerk Salenbien thanked her general chairman and precinct inspectors for doing a great job on the election.
OLD BUSINESS: None
Site Plan Approval – Palka – Brian Palka presented a site plan for Township Board approval. The Township Planning Commission and Monroe County Planning Commission have already approved the rezoning request. The board reviewed the plans and inquired about the lighting, security, landscaping, drainage, signage, phase development and building permit. Mr. Palka stated the three lots that front on M-50 will be strictly for residential homes and at no time will there be a driveway access from the storage lot to M-50. Trustee Lazette moved to approve the site plan as presented for the “Almost Home” Storage facility. Treasurer Sontag supported. Motion carried.
Petersburg Road Culvert: Trustee C.J. moved to allow Supervisor Uhl and Clerk Salenbien to sign a contract to replace a cross-tile on Petersburg Road, north of Tecumseh Road at a “not-to-exceed” amount of $5,000.00. Trustee Jaworski supported. Motion carried. Although we have not used our excess gradall funds for 2017 the RC has moved on to its 2018 fiscal year. Therefore, the funds for this contract will be paid from our road millage account.
Fire Department Quote/Frames Pest Control: The board discussed the rodent problem at the fire hall and the quote from Frames Pest Control. The board discussed alternate options of setting traps, bait stations and decon to try to get this under control first rather than hiring a company that has no guarantees. Trustee CJ moved to authorize the fire department to spend “not-to-exceed” $200.00 for traps and bait stations as needed for the firehall and Trustee CJ will coordinate with Chief Motylinski on monitoring this. Trustee Lazette supported. Motion carried.
ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL BOARD COMMENTS:
Trustee Travis cautioned the board about an abandoned pipeline that is in the area of the property located next to Oakgrove Cemetery if we were to purchase additional land in that area.
Trustee Jaworski inquired as to what is being installed on Wilcox Road in the road right-of- way. Clerk Salenbien reported Supervisor Uhl stated Randy Pierce was unaware of this and is checking into this.
Motion made by Treasurer Sontag supported by Clerk Salenbien to pay the bills in the amount of $14,090.96. Motion carried.
Trustee C.J. declared the meeting adjourned at 8:10 since all agenda items were completed. The next meeting will be November 28, 2017.
