JANUARY 28, 2020


The Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at the Dundee Township Hall.  Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.    The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  Roll call of officials was taken:  Supervisor Uhl, Treasurer Sontag, Clerk Salenbien, Trustees:  Lazette, Jaworski, Travis Horkey and C.J. Horkey were present.  Trustee Lazette moved to approve the meeting agenda Trustee Horkey supported.  Motion carried.  Trustee CJ moved to approve the minutes from the Workshop held January 14, 2020 and Treasurer Sontag supported.  Motion carried.  Trustee Travis moved to approve the Regular meeting minutes held January 14, 2020 and waive the reading of such.  Trustee Jaworski supported. Motion carried. Trustee CJ moved to approve the December, 2019 Treasurer’s report.  Clerk Salenbien supported.  Motion carried.  There was no Correspondence.

Trustee Sontag:  Treasurer Sontag reported she attended a County Treasurer meeting last week.  The Treasurer’s association agreed to charge .25 per parcel for information requested from larger firms for FOIA requests. This will be consistent for all townships and complies with our FOIA requirements.  Winter taxes are coming in steady but anticipate they will pick up in the next couple weeks.   


Clerk Salenbien:  Clerk Salenbien reported absentee ballots have arrived and will be mailed out in the next couple weeks.  Clerk Salenbien reported she attended a County Clerk’s business meeting to discuss upcoming election rules and requirements. 



Server Replacement:  Clerk Salenbien reported a revised quote was received from IT Right for a server.  The revised cost was $5,308.  The quote from Chrome Enterprise remained the same at $5,600.   The board discussed Chrome Enterprise being local and having great service from them as being very important.  Our current server was purchased from Chrome Enterprise and do our IT work.   Clerk Salenbien moved to accept the quote from Chrome Enterprise in the amount of $5,600 for the new server with the condition that deposit and delivery be after April 1st in our next fiscal year.  Trustee Jaworski supported.  Motion carried. 



2020 Mayfly Music Festival Donation:  Clerk Salenbien moved to donate up to $250.00 to the Mayfly Music Festival to be used for purchase of items for the festival.  Trustee Lazette supported.  Motion carried


2020 MCRC Road Contracts:  The board received contracts for the 2020 road work discussed at our last meeting.  The board reviewed them.  Trustee CJ moved to approve the MCRC contracts for 2020 as presented to the board except the contract for Day Road (dead end to Bunce Road).  Supervisor Uhl will contact the road commission for further clarification on this one.  Treasurer Sontag supported.  Motion carried.  Supervisor Uhl reported the MCRC informed her of two situations brought to her attention regarding culverts that have failed.  Irish road at Pitts Creek has a culvert failure with an estimated cost of $89,000 to repair.   Meanwell Road at Plumb Creek has a partial failure and estimated $10,000 for repairs.  Both areas are being investigated at this time.


MCRC Mowing Contract: Trustee CJ moved to approve the mowing contract with the MCRC (work by D&D Wyse) at a cost of $19,990 for the 2020 year.  Treasurer Sontag supported.  Motion carried. 



Trustee Lazette inquired about the cross-tile work being done on Stowell Road.  Supervisor Uhl reported the Road Commission is working towards a solution. 

Supervisor Uhl will check on the status of Radka Road where embankment was washing away last year to see if there is further erosion.    

Trustee Jaworski reported there are pot holes by the bridge on Petersburg Road that need addressed.  Clerk Salenbien reported there is a hole that needs addressed in the roadway between Brewer Road and the second bridge. 

Trustee Jaworski inquired about paving roads instead of stoning projects.  Trustee Travis discussed analyzing roads for drainage and berm removal work.  Suggestions may be given to Supervisor Uhl. 

Discussed a test fabric that was used under the stone on Alford Road years ago and how that area of the road has held up very good.    


Motion made by Trustee CJ supported by Clerk Salenbien to pay the bills from 1/24/2020 in the amount of $17,556.07.  Motion carried.  


Motion made by Treasurer Sontag supported by Trustee CJ to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.  The meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m. 


The next meeting will be February 11, 2020.  A budget workshop will be held prior to the meeting at 5:00 p.m.
