NOVEMBER 24, 2020


A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held “VIA ZOOM”, Tuesday, November 24, 2020.  Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.    The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  Present “Via Zoom” was:  Supervisor Uhl, Clerk Salenbien, Treasurer Sontag and Trustees:  Gary Lazette, C.J. Horkey, Travis Horkey and Ken Jaworski.  At this time Trustee C.J. Horkey read the official statute language allowing the board to hold, participate and vote by “Zoom Meeting”.  Treasurer Sontag moved to approve the meeting agenda and Clerk Salenbien supported.  Motion carried.  Trustee Travis moved to approve the minutes from the October 27, 2020, Regular meeting and Trustee Lazette supported.  Motion carried.     Trustee Jaworski moved to approve the October, 2020 Treasurers report and Clerk Salenbien supported.  Motion carried.  Treasurer Sontag moved to approve the correspondence and place on file.  Trustee Travis supported and motion carried. 





Assessing Department:  None


Building Department:  None


Supervisor Uhl:  Supervisor Uhl thanked Clerk Salenbien and Treasurer Sontag for their many years of service and is hoping that we can have a more proper send off in the spring when we can gather together. 


Trustee C.J.: Trustee CJ reported the Planning Commission held a “Zoom Meeting” and was basically a procedural required meeting, per the State requirements (4 meetings a year).   


Trustee Lazette:   None


Trustee Travis Horkey: None


Trustee Jaworski:  None


Trustee Sontag:  Treasurer Sontag reported the winter tax bills will be mailed out Monday, November 30th.  Collection will begin on December 1st


Clerk Salenbien:  Clerk Salenbien reported a total of 4,570 voters voted in the November 3rd election.  This is 69% of the registered voters.  Clerk Salenbien thanked all those who helped in all the preparation and tear down of the election.  Clerk Salenbien specifically wanted to thank Linda Sontag and Paula Sievert, Deputy Clerk who have been a huge help not only for this election but for all the past years.  Clerk Salenbien stated she has enjoyed serving these last 18 years as clerk and will miss everyone and wished the new board members the best.  Twelve Veteran markers have been ordered for the cemeteries and Jerry Henry has been notified.  Flags will need to be ordered in the spring (next fiscal year).        



Land Division Ordinance – Discussion:  The Board discussed responses received from Kerry Bondy, Attorney to the Land Division Ordinance.  Supervisor Uhl asked if the board had any further corrections and if not the board should be ready to vote on this at the next meeting.  Treasurer Sontag inquired about delinquent taxes and making sure the County Treasurer certifies they paid by state statute.    This is a General Code Ordinance.    



New Treasurer Appointment:  At the recommendation of the committee consisting of Supervisor Uhl, Trustee Lazette and Treasurer Sontag they all agreed that Lisa Hunt would bring a lot to the table as Treasurer with her background, experience and willingness to try it.  Supervisor Uhl moved to appoint Lisa Hunt to the position of Treasurer, effective December 1, 2020.  Trustee Lazette supported.  A roll call vote was taken with all members of the board voting in favor.   Motion carried. 


New Clerk Appointment:  At the recommendation of the committee consisting of Supervisor Uhl, Trustee Jaworski and Clerk Salenbien they all agreed that Sharayah Sanders was the most qualified candidate for the position of Clerk.  Sharayah has had some previous experience from working for another jurisdiction that would help make the transition smoother. Trustee Jaworski moved to appoint Sharayah Sanders to the position of Clerk, effective December 1, 2020.  Clerk Salenbien supported.  A roll call vote was taken with all members of the board voting in favor.   Motion carried.



Treasurer Sontag thanked everyone for all their help in her role as Treasurer for the last 12 years. 

Supervisor Uhl welcomed Sharayah and Lisa and thanked Linda and Janet again. 


Motion made by Treasurer Sontag supported by Clerk Salenbien to pay the bills from 11/05/2020 in the amount of $18,114.10.  Motion carried.  


Motion made by Trustee CJ supported by Treasurer Sontag to pay the bills from 11/19/20 in the amount of $23,969.80.  Motion carried. 


At this time Supervisor Uhl gave the “Oath of Office” to Sharayah Sanders for the position of Township Clerk.  Lisa Hunt will take the Oath on December 1st for the office of Township Treasurer.  


Motion made by Treasurer Sontag supported by Clerk Salenbien to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.  The meeting adjourned at 7:33 p.m.    The next meeting will be Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
