MARCH 27, 2018
The Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Dundee Township Hall. Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Treasurer Sontag moved to approve the agenda upon amending to waive the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call of officials since they were done at the public hearing prior to this meeting. Trustee CJ supported. Motion carried. All board members were present. Trustee Lazette moved to approve the minutes of the March 13, 2018, Regular Meeting and waive the reading of such. Treasurer Sontag supported. Motion carried. Trustee CJ moved to approve the February 2018 Treasurer’s Report. Trustee Travis supported. Motion carried. There was no Correspondence.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None
Assessing Department: Supervisor Uhl reported the Assessing Department has completed their work on “Board of Review” and have taken it to the County.

Trustee Lazette: Trustee Lazette reported he will be making a first quarter “Code Red” announcement a little later than usual and will include information regarding the annual township clean-up day to be held on April 28th. If anyone has anything further to include in the announcement please let him know.
Trustee Travis Horkey: Commented on the lots adjacent to Oakgrove Cemetery.
Trustee Jaworski: Trustee Jaworski reported there was some trench damage to the ground at Maplegrove Cemetery. Clerk Salenbien stated the sexton contacted us at the time it occurred and will be make the necessary repairs.
Treasurer Sontag: Treasurer Sontag reported the final checks were processed and the Ad-Valorem roll completed for 2017. Personal property taxes are accepted at the township. Treasurer Sontag reported on a complaint she received about an item at the cemetery that probably was disposed of during our spring cleanup. The resident was informed that spring cemetery clean-up is posted at all the cemeteries.
Clerk Salenbien: Clerk Salenbien reported the stripping and finishing of the basement floors at the Library will be done on Thursday. The carpet cleaning will be scheduled shortly. Both Clerk and Deputy Clerk attended a mandatory 2018 Election Cycle training class in Monroe.
Weed Ordinance/ Discussion/: The township board held a lengthy discussion regarding adopting the recommended Noxious Weed and Grass Control Ordinance. All board members expressed their views, concerns, pros/cons, agricultural vs. residential, legal limitations, identifying weeds/flowers, 10 acre splits and enforcement. To allow the township to enforce the Ordinance, a legal notice must be published by March 31st each year. The board suggested making the following changes within the ordinance: change the height from 6 inches to 10 inches and the failure to comply from May 1 to June 1. With no further discussion, Supervisor Uhl moved to adopt Ordinance # 42, Noxious Weed and Grass Control Ordinance upon amending in Section 3, six (6) inches to ten (10) inches and in Section 4 change the date from May 1st to June 1st. Clerk Salenbien supported. Roll call vote was taken: Trustee CJ, no, Trustee Jaworski, yes, Trustee Travis, no, Trustee Lazette, yes, Treasurer Sontag, no, Clerk Salenbien, yes, Supervisor Uhl, yes. Motion carried.
Resolution 2018-3 – Budget Adoption: Trustee Lazette moved to adopt Resolution 2018-3 the 2018-2019 Budget Adoption. Treasurer Sontag supported. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting in favor. Motion carried.
Resolution 2018-4 Authorization to use Computerized Data Base as Tax Roll: Treasurer Sontag moved to adopt Resolution 2018-4- Authorization to use Computerized Data Base as Tax Roll. Clerk Salenbien supported. Roll Call vote was taken with all members voting in favor. Motion carried.
ONSOLVE – Mass Communication: Trustee Lazette moved to pay Dundee Township’s portion of the invoice from OnSolve (CodeRed) in the amount of $2470.00 for the term beginning April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019. Trustee CJ supported. Motion carried.
Policy & Procedure Manual – Vacation Form: Supervisor Uhl shared a “Draft” Vacation form to be included in our current Policy and Procedure Manual.
ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL BOARD COMMENTS:
Trustee Jaworski commented on the Noxious Weed Ordinance.
Motion made by Supervisor Uhl supported by Treasurer Sontag to pay the bills from March 22, 2018, in the amount of $11,295.90. Motion carried.
Treasurer Sontag moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:08p.m. and Supervisor Uhl supported. Motion Carried. The next meeting will be April 10, 2018.
