A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday June 10, 2025. Supervisor Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All present recited The Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Present were Trustees: Alana Horkey, Ken Jaworski, Tim Miles, Gary Lazette, Supervisor Lewis, Clerk Ziesmer, Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Ziesmer did roll call.

 

• Trustee Lazette motioned to revise the agenda, adding to Old Business, potential Website change. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt motioned to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on May 13, 2025. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Trustee Horkey motioned to waive the reading of the one correspondence and place it on file. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt motioned to approve the Treasurer’s Report for April 2025. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.

 

CORRESPONDENCE: ZBA Meeting Minutes from May 19, 2025. DTE- Case No. U-21909. Drain Commission Approvals.

                                   

PUBLIC COMMENT: Micaela Bogi discussed Log Jam at Macon Creek before River Raisin.

 

OFFICIAL REPORTS

 

LIBRARY:  

• Jennifer from the MCLS gave an update on The Environmental Grant, it was approved and the Fountain was ordered. Thompson Plumbing and Heating will be installing the new Drinking Fountain.
• Friends of Library paid for new Blinds for the Lower Level.
• Summer Play Groups and Reading Programs will start the week of Monday June 16^th.
• Spring Play Groups planted the Lower-Level Garden that is available to the public to pick when ready.
• All MCLS Branches will be closed on Thursday June 19^th.

 

ASSESSING: No report at this time

 

BUILDING DEPARTMENT:

• Gave a Monthly Permit Report from January through June 2025.
• Residential code will go into effect September 1, 2025.

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT:

• The new Tanker 2 Fire Truck was delivered.
• Looking into purchasing a new Rescue Truck, the current one is over 10 years old.
• Currently down to 22 Firemen.

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT: Summer Taxes were sent to the printer.

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE: No report at this time.

 

CLERK KARLA ZIESMER: No report at this time.

 

SUPERVISOR LEWIS:

• Discussed accountant Jim Beck. Supervisor Lewis motioned to keep Jim Beck on till the end of the month, not extending any contract. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
• Supervisor Lewis motioned to appoint Trustee Miles as the Revize Liaison. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Trustee Lazette, No. Motion carried.

 

TRUSTEE TIM MILES: No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI: Very pleased with JP’s Lawn Care & More, mowing the cemeteries.

 

TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY: No report at the time

 

OLD BUSINESS: Place discussion of Revize website on the next Agenda.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

• Ballots were handed out for the Michigan Township Participating Plan Board of Director Election.
• Treasurer Hunt motioned to pay the Annual Dues for Michigan Township Association, from 7-1-2025 to 6-30-2026, in the amount of $7,318, waiving the Legal Defense Fund contribution. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Trustee Lazette motioned to accept the bid from Brian’s Seal Coating, in the amount of $500, to have the front parking lot of the Township Hall sealed. Clerk Ziesmer seconded. Motion carried.

Treasurer Hunt motion to pay bills from May 22, 2025 in the amount of $12,956.97.  Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.

 

Treasurer Hunt motion to pay bills from June 5, 2025 in the amount of $21,417.53.  Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.

 

Treasurer Hunt motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:57 p.m. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.
