A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday July 22, 2025. Supervisor Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All present recited The Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Present were Trustees: Alana Horkey, Tim Miles, Gary Lazette, Supervisor Lewis, Clerk Ziesmer, Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Ziesmer did roll call. Trustee Ken Jaworski was excused.

 

• Trustee Miles moved to adopt the agenda. Clerk Ziesmer seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt moved to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on June 24, 2025. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt moved to waive the reading of the remaining correspondence and place on file. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report for June 2025. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.

 

CORRESPONDENCE: DTE Case # U-21681, DTE Case # U-21672, Michigan Gas # U-21442, June Ordinance Officers Report, MTA Letter.

                                   

PUBLIC COMMENT: Micaela Bogi gave copies of a quote from Tom Simon & Son Backhoe Service to remove log jam from Macon River to landing. Also asked if we could apply for a grant for funding the quote.

FIRE DEPARTMENT:

• Total calls for June were 106. Village Calls: 86, Township Calls: 19, Mutual Aid Calls: 1.
• Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus agreement was handed out. This agreement is to allow the sale of the old Pierce Fire Truck and Trailer. Treasurer Hunt moved to have Supervisor Lewis sign the agreement from Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt moved to allow the special use of the Dundee Fire Truck for the Monroe County Fair Demolition Derby. Trustee Horkey seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt gave copies of new Fire Charges Ordinance and quote from Spirit Ford for new Fire Truck. Treasure Hunt asked to have both placed on the next Meeting Agenda.
• Dundee Fire Department will be hosting the Monroe County Firefighters Association 75^th Anniversary Recognition on Sunday August 10th, 2025 from noon-4 p.m.

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT: Continuing to collect Taxes. Working with new Tech support to fix BS&A Tax/Assessing issue.

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE: Spoke to Monroe County Road Commission about the Bridge on Stowell Rd.

 

CLERK KARLA ZIESMER: No report at this time.

 

SUPERVISOR LEWIS: No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE TIM MILES: No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI: Excused

 

TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY: Expressed her gratitude towards the Dundee Library.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

• Trustee Miles moved to have Supervisor Lewis send a letter to Dundee Products to have 17 evergreen trees planted per sight plan. Clerk Ziesmer seconded. Motion carried.
• Clerk Ziesmer moved to have Supervisor Lewis send a Notice of Termination for Cause Letter to Revize. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
• Supervisor Lewis moved to apply for Grants for the Macon River log jam. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS: Supervisor Lewis moved to approve the Quote from Corrigan Environmental Solutions in the amount of $1,272.00 for Dust Control Application at Rod Park. There was no second, the motion was not considered.

 

Additional board comments:

 

Treasurer Hunt moved to pay bills from July 4, 2025 in the amount of $26,519.51.  Trustee Miles seconded. Motion carried.

 

Trustee Lazette moved to pay bills from July 17, 2025 in the amount of $119,791.91.  Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

 

 

Trustee Miles moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 p.m. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.
