A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday August 12, 2025. Treasurer Hunt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All present recited The Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Present were Trustees: Ken Jaworski, Tim Miles, Gary Lazette, Clerk Ziesmer and Treasurer Hunt. Clerk Ziesmer did roll call. Trustee Alana Horkey and Supervisor Lewis were excused.

 

• Trustee Jaworski moved to adopt the agenda. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.
• Trustee Miles moved to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on July 22, 2025. Trustee Jaworski seconded. Motion carried.
• Treasurer Hunt motioned to waive the reading of the correspondence and place on file. Clerk Ziesmer seconded. Motion carried.

LIBRARY: Jennifer from the MCLS came to the meeting to give an update

• Statistics for June: Dundee Branch is fourth highest circulation in the MCLS. There were 23 programs and 760 attendees.
• Thompson Plumbing and Heating installed the new Drinking Fountain. Total cost was $1,500. The MCLS is paying $750 and the Township is responsible for the remaining $750.
• Jennifer provided a photo collage of the Programs for July.

BUILDING DEPARTMENT: No report at this time

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT: Total calls for July were 107. Village Calls: 80, Township Calls: 24, Mutual Aid Calls: 3

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT: Continuing to collect Taxes.

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE: Trustee Lazette moved to pay the Invoice in the amount of $65 for paint, supplies and labor for the repair around the new Drinking Fountain at the Library. Trustee Miles seconded. Motion carried.

 

CLERK KARLA ZIESMER: MCCC will be on the Ballot for the November 4^th 2025 General Election.

 

SUPERVISOR LEWIS: Excused

 

 

 

TRUSTEE TIM MILES: Spoke with Revize about termination of our contract. Revize had 10 days to dispute our request for termination. Trustee Miles moved to advertise for a new Website Designer. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI: No report at this time.

 

TRUSTEE ALANA HORKEY: Excused

 

OLD BUSINESS: None at this time

 

NEW BUSINESS:

• Treasurer Hunt moved to approve the quote from Spirit Ford and Iconic Elements Inc. and Priority One Emergency in the amount of $93,756.83, for the purchase of a new Fire Truck and custom accessories for the interior and exterior. Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.
• Trustee Miles moved to accept the proposal from Neil Coates, for Township Information Technology needs. Clerk Ziesmer seconded. Motion carried.

 

Additional board comments:

• Trustee Miles is working with River Raisin Water Shed to receive a donation from Amrize for the log jam clean-up at the Macon River.
• MCRC is working on preparing a quote for Kent Rd. Drain issue.

 

Treasurer Hunt moved to pay bills from August 7, 2025 in the amount of $225,577.91.  Trustee Lazette seconded. Motion carried.

 

Trustee Jaworski moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. Clerk Ziesmer seconded. Motion carried.
