A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, November 22, 2022.  Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Present were: Trustees: CJ Horkey, Gary Lazette, Travis Horkey & Ken Jaworski, Supervisor Uhl, Treasurer Hunt & Clerk Anderson. Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Trustee Ken Jaworski supported. Motion carried. Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on October 25,2022. Trustee Travis Horkey supported. Clerk Anderson abstained. Motion carried. Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to accept the Treasurers report for October 25, 2022. Trustee Gary Lazette supported. Motion carried. Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to approve the 2 correspondence and place them on file. Trustee Travis Horkey supported. Motion carried.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.

 

 

OFFICIAL REPORTS

LIBRARY: No report at this time.

 

ASSESSING: No report at this time.

 

BUILDING DEPARTMENT: No report at this time.

 

SUPERVISOR UHL: Supervisor Uhl gave a report on the 2023 Road Construction Proposal. Trustee Gary Lazette inquired about chip-seal being done on Dixon Rd. Supervisor Uhl stated that is not planned for 2023.

 

TRUSTEE CJ HORKEY: Trustee CJ Horkey submitted the Fire Department report. Fire Department Report - There were 46 fire calls in total for the month of October and 1 overlapping (EMS & Fire) call where aid was received. Trustee CJ Horkey also submitted his Letter of Resignation. He will remain as Trustee for Dundee Township until the end of 2022 year.

 

TRUSTEE GARY LAZETTE: Trustee Lazette stated he will finish draining the exterior facets at the library. He also mentioned the library gutters have been cleaned.

 

TRUSTEE TRAVIS HORKEY: Trustee Travis Horkey mentioned concerns about a cross tile on Dixon Rd. and the berm at M-50 and Dixon Rd. needing to be inspected and fixed by the Road Commission.

 

TRUSTEE KEN JAWORSKI: Trustee Jaworski stated debris has been removed at Oak Grove Cemetery and the fence has been repaired at Maple Grove Cemetery.

 

TREASURER LISA HUNT: Treasurer Hunt stated winter tax bills will be mailed November 30th. She stated due to previous color-coding concerns, the new coloring will be: Green: Summer Taxes, Blue: Winter Taxes, Yellow: Village Taxes. Treasurer Hunt inquired with Old National for accepting debit card payments for the Treasure’s Department. There will be a 3% fee (to be paid by the payee). There will be a $15 monthly fee for user training and a cost of $180 per month for the machine. She will be getting a quote from First Merchant as well. Treasurer Hunt also mentioned the Drain Commission never sent out the 2021 Drain Bills, so they will be added to the 2022 Drain Bills. The total for all missed bills is $964.34. Finally, Treasurer Hunt motioned to re-appoint Laura Nevers as Deputy Treasure. Trustee CJ Horkey seconded. Motion carried.

 

CLERK JEAN ANDERSON: Clerk Anderson motioned to appoint Paula Sievert as Deputy Clerk. Trustee Jaworski supported. Motion carried.

 

 

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Solar Ordinance Amendment: voting is to be postponed to confirm the printed proposal in review is still the most current version. Trustee Travis Horkey made suggestions to rephrase language in sections C and D. 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

  • MCRC Mowing Contract: Supervisor Uhl reviewed and motioned the renewal of mowing contract for the township ditches. Treasurer Hunt seconded motion. Motioned carried.

 

  • MCRC Excess Gradall: Supervisor Uhl recommended combining Phase 1 & 2 for financial savings. This would spread 2 years of work into 1 year, increasing the cost by $7,500 from $31,000 to $38,500. CJ motioned to approve and to increase 2023 budget to $100,000 to cover combining Phase 1 & 2 and allow for any extra expenses. Treasurer Hunt seconded. Motion carried.

 

In Additional board comments:

  • Trustee Position: Supervisor Uhl stated inquiries for anyone interested in the upcoming trustee position can be submitted to the Township office until January 2023.

 

  • Planning Commission Membership: With the recent passing of board member Brockman, Supervisor Uhl will determine the timeframe and procedures for a new candidacy recommendation.

 

 

Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to pay the bills from 10/13/22 in the amount of $8,483.98. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.

 

Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to pay the bills from 10/20/22 in the amount of $17,677.39. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried.

 

 

Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to adjourn, Trustee Gary Lazette supported. Motion carried.
