DUNDEE TOWNSHIP

REGULAR MEETING

SEPTEMBER 28, 2021

 

A Regular Meeting of the Dundee Township Board was held Tuesday, September 28, 2021.  Supervisor Uhl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Present were: Supervisor Uhl, Treasurer Hunt, Clerk Sanders and Trustees: Gary Lazette, CJ Horkey, Ken Jaworski & Travis Horkey. Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to adopt the agenda. Trustee Gary Lazette supported. Motion carried. Trustee Travis Horkey made a motion to approve the regular meeting minutes from the meeting held on August 24,2021 & waive the reading. Treasurer Hunt supported. Motion carried. Trustee Ken Jaworski made a motion to approve the Treasurers report for August 2021. Clerk Sanders supported. Motion carried.

 

Public comment:

Many residents from the Township & Village attended the meeting to discuss thoughts and concerns about the Village of Dundee office space.

Dori Hawkins-Freelain from the Monroe County Road Commission also attended the meeting to discuss the work on the US23 closure.

Building Department: None.

 

Supervisor Uhl: None.

 

Trustee C.J Horkey: Trustee Horkey discussed the issues that the Fire Department is having with truck 22-6. It is the oldest truck they have & has had many repairs so far this year. This truck will need to be replaced as soon as it can be since the department is responding to more calls this year & therefor there has been a lot of use of the truck.

 

Trustee Lazette: None.

 

Trustee Travis Horkey:  None.

 

Trustee Jaworski: Trustee Jaworski gave an update on the cemetery. Things are being kept up well & had no issues.

 

Trustee Hunt: Treasurer Hunt gave an update on the training she attended last month. Is still going over a lot of the information that was given out & will go over some of that with the board at a later date.

 

Clerk Sanders: None.

 

 

 

OLD BUSINESS:

No old business to discuss at this time.

 

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Decker Insurance Policy Renewal:

The board discussed the invoice from decker for the insurance policy. Trustee CJ Horkey made a motion to renew the policy with Decker Insurance in the amount of $37,421.00. Trustee Travis Horkey supported. Motion carried.

 

Board discussion of the Village of Dundee offer regarding the second-floor office space:

The members of the board discussed the pro’s & cons on the decision to move our Township offices into the second-floor office space of the Village building. After discussion, Trustee Lazette made a motion to not enter into any workshops with the Village regarding the movement of the Township office to the Village second-floor office space, but to entertain a public hearing and/or possible workshops on other ways to collaborate or share services. And to respectfully thank the Village of Dundee for their offer.

ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL BOARD COMMENTS: 

 

 

Trustee Gary Lazette made a motion to pay the bills for 9/9/21 in the amount of $38,109.09. Trustee Ken Jaworski supported. Motion carried.

 

Clerk Sanders made a motion to pay the bills for 9/23/21 in the amount of $33,308.31. Trustee Gary Lazette supported. Motion carried.

 

Treasurer Hunt made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Gary Lazette supported.  Motion carried.  The meeting adjourned at 8:46p.m.    The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 12^th, 2021 at 7pm.
